Brief Introduction

Prof. Zhang received his PhD degree in pharmacology from Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) in 2009, with his research interest in cardiovascular immunopharmacology. After then, he joined University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in the United States for a four-year postdoctoral research, during which he was awarded the Postdoctoral fellowship by the American Heart Association and the title of Outstanding Young Scientist by the University of Cincinnati Cardiovascular Center. Since returning to China in 2013, his relevant research work has been supported by a number of funds, and has published more than 40 academic papers with total impact factor of over 240. As the first/corresponding author, he has published more than 10 papers in a series of international journals such as Circulation ,  Autophagy , Acta Parm Sin B , and  J Am Heart Assoc . He has also been awarded the title of "Union New Star" by Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the 18th SERVIER Young Pharmacologist by Chinese Pharmacological Society. Prof. Zhang’s major research interests focus on: 1) The pathogenesis investigation and drug development of cardiovascular and liver fibrosis. 2) Protein quality control especially cell autophagy mediated cell biology mechanism in the process of tissue fibrosis. 3) Research and development of new polypeptide and natural products active molecules targeting protein-protein interaction.
