Brief Introduction

Zhang Xiang is working as an associate professor and MS supervisor with the Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He is a licensed pharmacist. He has more than 20 years of research experience in the field of drug R&D. During his career, he has presided over a number of the R&D and industrial technology transfer projects of innovative drugs and high-end generic drugs. As a sub project leader, he has completed preclinical study of a new drug for drug-resistant tuberculosis. He has published more than 20 research papers and filed more than 10 patents. His research interests focus on medicinal chemistry, including (i) development of innovative drugs; (ii) chiral drug's synthesis methodology; (iii) the process study of drugs with complex structures.
