Brief Introduction

Dr. Shi Jiangong received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in 1985 and 1993 from Lanzhou Medical College and Lanzhou University, respectively. He worked in natural product chemistry as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Wang Han-Qing at Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2 years); with Prof. Kenneth L. Rinehart at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1.5 years); and with Prof. Abimael D. Rodriguez at the University of Puerto Rico (1 year). Then he joined the Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, and is currently a professor of medicinal chemistry and director of the Department of Natural Medicines Chemistry. His interests focus on minor and/or water-soluble constituents of commonly used traditional Chinese medicines. He has authored 200+ scientific publications and has 20+ licensed patents.
