Brief Introduction

Hu Youcai received his Ph.D. degree in 2008 from Peking Union Medical College, where he studied natural medicinal chemistry with Prof. Yu Shishan. After postdoctoral training in marine natural products (2010-2013) with Prof. John B. MacMillan at UTSW, and fungal natural product biosynthesis (2013-2014) with Prof. Yi Tang at UCLA, he returned to the Institute of Materia Medica, Peking Union Medical College at end of 2014. His research interests focus on genome mining guided discovery and biosynthesis of natural products. He has published more than 60 papers in Journal of American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Natural Product Reports, Nature Chemical Biology, etc. He is also engaged as editorial board member of Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B and Journal of Chinese Medicines, and youth editorial board member of Chinese Chemical Letters, Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines, Green Synthesis & Catalysis and others.
