Brief Introduction

Dr. He recent research mainly focused on the disciplines of mass spectrometry (MS) and medicine with an emphasis on the ambient MS ionization and imaging method and their application in molecular mapping for cancer research, neuroscience, drug research and development. His group in PUMC proposed and developed Air Flow-Assisted Desorption Ionization (AFADESI)-Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI), data processing software MassImager and spatially-resolved metabolomics method. AFADESI-MSI system, integrating device, software and application method, has been developed as a powerful tool for small molecular mapping in bio-tissue. His group have demonstrated that MSI based metabolomics is emerging and promising for cancer metabolism research, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics research. He has pioneered a novel paradigm for the high throughput discovery of cancer-related metabolic alternation from metabolites to enzymes. He designed a metabolite-Taxol conjugate prodrug for the tumor targeted-therapy which is developing as a high efficiency and low toxicity antitumor drug.
