Brief Introduction

Geng Yiqun completed her B.Sc in pharmaceutical sciences and her Ph.D in chemical biology at Peking University in 2011. She studied carbohydrate chemistry during her Ph.D training under the supervision of professor Xin-Shan Ye. From 2011, she conducted her postdoctoral research with professor Richard R. Schmidt at the University of Konstanz, Germany and with Professor Ben G. Davis at University of Oxford, UK, focusing on irreversible glucosidase inhibitors, acid-base catalysis, chemical intervention of sugar signaling in plant and selective chemical protein modifications. She has published papers in world-leading journals such as Nature, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Commun., etc., and won the State Natural Science Awards (SNSA) second-class as the 3rd recipient in 2013. She joined the faculty of IMM, CAMS&PUMS in 2020 and currently her research focuses on functional analysis of sugar metabolites and chemical intervention of sugar metabolite sensing and signaling in health and diseases.
