1989年分配至中国医学科学院药物研究所工作至今。1994年破格晋升副研究员，1997年破格晋升研究员。现任药物研究所新药开发研究室主任，兼任国家药典委员会委员、国家药品监督管理局外聘专家、农业部兽药审评委员、《中国新药杂志》、《中国药物化学杂志》、《中国抗生素杂志》编委。作为药学负责人研发的治疗脑卒中创新药物匹诺赛林及其冻干粉针剂已经国家药品监督管理局批准进入II期临床研究，降血脂候选药物IMM-H007即将申报临床，治疗非酒精性肝炎候选药物IMM-H014已进入临床前研究。先后负责完成国家二类新药依西美坦等二十余个重要非专利药物项目的研究开发工作，在国内外核心期刊发表论文140余篇，申请发明专利近40项。先后承担了国家自然科学基金、国家高技术研究发展计划（863计划）、国家“十一五”、“十二五”、“十三五”重大新药创制科技重大专项、美国克林顿基金会艾滋病防治药物研究项目等三十多项基础性和应用性的研究项目。获得第五届中国青年科技奖等多项国家及省部级奖励。
